Upcoming Classes Starting January

Open Enrollment Classes

  1. Fitness/Calisthenics Class

    • Wednesdays, 6:30-7:15 PM | $475
    • This 8 week class will teach you and your dog techniques to warm-up and stretch your pup to prepare them for competitions and significant activities such as hunting or going on a long run/walk to decrease the odds of injury during these activities. You will also learn strengthening exercises to help improve your dog’s strength and performance. Dogs should be at least 1 year old or older to ensure their joints and bodies are fully matured and ready for impact activities. Do bring appropriate treats for your pup. All dogs MUST have basic obedience skills. If your dog needs basic obedience, you can complete private lessons, Blocks Training or a Board and Train program to be eligible for this class.
  2. Puppy Class

    • Fridays, 6:30-7:15 PM | $390
    • This 6 week class is for all of those puppies 8 weeks - 7 mos old and that have no skills at all. We will be teaching owners how to best lay the groundwork to develop their puppies into happy, well-trained and well-adjusted adult dogs. We will cover obedience games, handling skills, puppy 101 information to include house-training, and other topics specific to owning a puppy and helping it grow into a well socialized dog and be prepared to learn basic obedience skills. We do require appropriate vaccinations for the age of your puppy but realize some puppies will be missing complete series due to their age. All puppy owners must sign a waiver acknowledging the health risks of bringing an unvaccinated/under-vaccinated puppy to class. Our facility is cleaned between classes but there is always a risk to puppies that are not fully vaccinated. Do bring appropriate treats for your pup. We will offer to certify your pup as an AKC S.T.A.R puppy at your 6th class if you like. It is not a requirement to course completion. If you choose to enroll your puppy into either Blocks training or a Board and Train program after completing the puppy class, $250 of your puppy enrollment will go towards these advanced classes.
  3. Growl Class

    • Saturdays, 10-10:45 AM | $475
    • This 8 week class is targeted at our behavior modification client/dog teams. This class will be designed to add additional obedience skills and games to help you interact in a fun way with your dog while teaching them to stay focused on you. All enrollees must have completed a basic obedience class and we will cap class size to ensure a fun environment for all attendees. Toys (preferably tugs) and treats are required for this class. We will help you determine what works best for your dog. If your dog completed a standard obedience class but has developed issues, this may be the right class for you as well.
  4. Games Class

    • Saturdays, 12-12:45 PM | $475
    • This 8 week class is for all of our standard obedience and off-leash trained dogs. We will use games to improve your dog’s focus on you in a distracting environment as well as sharpen their obedience with fun games and friendly competitions. Bring treats and/or toys to help keep your pup engaged and to reward them throughout the exercises. All dogs MUST have basic obedience skills. If your dog needs basic obedience, you can complete private lessons, Blocks Training or a Board and Train program to be eligible for this class.

Fixed Enrollment Classes (Beginning the 1st week of January)

  1. AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

    • Thursdays, 6:30-7:15 PM | $260
    • This 4 week class will take place in public places and with the certification test occurring on the 4th week. Dogs should have very solid basic obedience skills in place as we will be going into the public immediately and will be working on improving those skills in various local businesses. We also offer the evaluation test to enter the therapy dog group, Love On A Leash, that is here in Bismarck concurrently with the CGC test if an owner wants to be tested for both. Be aware that all skills must be passed without the use of treats or training tools such as prong collars or e-collars. Slip chains and martingale collars are allowed. The skills that need to be passed are on the AKC website HERE.  Click HERE for more information on becoming a therapy dog team with Love On A Leash.
  2. Chill Class

    • Saturdays, 11-11:45 AM | $300
    • This 4 week class is designed to teach you and your dog a relaxing routine to help you bond and create calm with your dog. It will help with your dog’s impulse control and will allow you to perform basic grooming techniques while examining your dog for minor health issues (head to snout assessment). You will need to bring a Place mat of some sort. It can be a baby blanket, re-washable pee pad, Mutt Mat or other foldable item that your dog will be taught to settle on. Your dog does NOT need to have basic obedience for this class but it is helpful for your dog to know Sit and Down. Class will be held on Saturdays from 11-11:45 am and will be $300 which includes the cost of supplies.
